Street Shot 100: Basic Handgun Application from a Vehicle

Train for the Unexpected — Because Real-World Threats Don’t Happen on a Flat Range

This dynamic 5–6 hour course is designed to teach students how to respond with a handgun from inside a vehicle — a critical yet often overlooked defensive skill set. You'll train on shooting through windshields and windows, proper threat assessment, and survival tactics when an assailant is outside your vehicle.

Led by Jim Mauney, a veteran firearms instructor with 50+ years in law enforcement, SWAT, and emergency response, Street Shot 100 delivers practical training rooted in real-world experience and designed to prepare you for the worst.

What You’ll Learn

• How your body responds to extreme stress and how to work through it 
• Florida Statutes on self-defense and deadly force 
• Human anatomy, point of aim, shot placement, and bullet trajectory 
• Threat prioritization and engagement strategy 
• How to recognize and use cover vs. concealment 
• What to expect inside your vehicle before and after you shoot 
• Defensive and offensive movement around a vehicle 
• Range safety fundamentals 
• Live-fire exercises through real vehicle props and windshields
   

What to Bring

• A defensive handgun (.38, 9mm, .40, or .45) 
• 200 rounds of factory ammunition 
• Eye and ear protection 
• Hydration (water, sports drink, etc.) 
• Lunch or snacks 
• Valid photo ID 
• A focused, safety-minded attitude

What to Wear

• Closed-toe shoes or boots
